It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jackie Barten on Sunday, January 29, 2012. Jackie has been involved with QMP–LS for more than fifteen years.  Initially, as a medical laboratory technologist working at Credit Valley Hospital, Jackie was responsible for the preparation of testing material for many of the chemistry EQA surveys. Later, she joined the Clinical Chemistry scientific committee, and had served as a member since April 1, 2007 to present.

Jackie trained as medical laboratory technologist at the Michener Institute and worked in Brampton and Orangeville before moving to the clinical chemistry laboratory at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga.

Jackie’s contribution to QMP–LS, her expertise in clinical chemistry and impact on those around her will make her greatly missed.
