June 9th 2012 will mark World Accreditation Day, a global initiative jointly established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) to raise awareness of the importance of accreditation-related activities. This year’s theme focuses on the role that accreditation plays in supporting the provision of safe food and clean drinking water.
At QMP–LS we understand the importance of accreditation. We're proud of the role we play in health care through our accreditation-related activities. QMP–LS identifies, designs and delivers external quality assessment (EQA), accreditation and education services and related products that meet international standards, client and stakeholder requirements. QMP–LS has issued accreditation certificates since 2003.
Clients in Canada and other countries may voluntarily apply for accreditation and/or participate in EQA surveys. In three Canadian provinces (Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador), the QMP–LS accreditation program is mandated by government through service contracts signed with either the Ontario Medical Association or its wholly owned subsidiary the
Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH).
Our accreditation processes are aligned with ISO 17011:2004 Conformity Assessment – General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) policies, plus its guidelines for assessor qualifications, training and competence.
Our EQA division conducts PT/EQA surveys in accordance with
ISO ISO/IEC 17043: 2010 Conformity assessment — General requirements for proficiency testing and ILAC guidelines for competent proficiency testing schemes.
